COP30 Now or Never: Business Expectations and Industry Insights

COP30 begins and there are hopes for past pledges to be met. Action is needed now more than ever and binding commitments with concrete timelines are what matters. The hope is that this year’s UN Climate Conference will translate past pledges into real actions, avoiding new, non-binding commitments. Countries will be expected to show plans to meet Paris Agreement 1.5°C goal but past failures, lack of progress and insufficient climate finance has led to cynicism. Yet COP30 is designed as the ‘now or never moment’.
This online event, hosted on the second day of COP30, will include experts from a range of businesses, large and small, looking at their hopes and expectations coming out of the UN’s Climate Conference. Key topics will include:
Climate Financing
Sustainable supply chains
Energy, transport & Infrastructure
Waste & water
Biodiversity
Speakers:
- Jo Kuper, Communications Director, Changing Markets Foundation - an NGO that exposes irresponsible practices and drives change towards a more sustainable economy.
- Matt Kennedy, Head of Client Transformation, IDA Ireland, the Irish Government’s agency responsible for foreign direct investment
- Gavin Brooking, UK Managing Director, Tootbus, the world’s greenest sight seeing bus
Please join us to hear from the PR industry on how they are preparing and expect to manage the biggest international climate conference with their stakeholders. There will be a Q&A at the end of the panel for you to ask burning questions.
