Inside the Newsroom: Peter Walker on Regional Business Journalism

TheBusinessDesk.com is a UK regional business news website covering the North West, Yorkshire, West Midlands, East Midlands, South West, and now Scotland with the appointment of Peter Walker as a writer and editor based in Edinburgh.

Over the course of a more than 15-year career Peter has covered various parts of business and finance, starting at Euromoney Institutional Investor on the pensions and asset management beat, before moving to the Financial Times to write about the advisory market, and also doing a stint on the techy side of things at FSTech and Retail Systems.

Five years ago, he moved back to Edinburgh to take the online editor's role at Scottish Business Insider but has recently moved to a similar position at TheBusinessDesk. He also continues to dabble in music and culture journalism, penning occasional pieces for The Skinny, Clash and Mixmag.
